Phoenix Has landed
PHOENIX SPACECRAFT HAS LANDED Today between 19:00 and 20:00 EST, May 25, 2008 the Phoenix Spacecraft has landed on Mars without a hitch. This is a major accomplishment for mankind. This time the spacecraft instead of using airbags to bounce land on Mars like the previous missions. Phoenix entered the Mars atmosphere at a speed of around 12000 mph and after slowing down due to friction with the Mars atmosphere it deployed its main parachute. After the heat shield and and the parachute had been ejected the lander fired its rockets and with assistance from its own on board radar made a safe rocket powered landing. Congratulations to the successful team at NASA for a fantastic feat accomplished.
